Kalamazoo Brass

Founded in 2005, Kalamazoo Brass quickly established itself as one of Southwest Michigan's premier chamber ensembles.  They have performed at numerous festivals and concert series including the First United Methodist Church "Advent Concert Series," the "Kindleberger Summer Concert Series," "Concerts in the Park Series" at Bronson Park, the "Westminster Presbyterian Church Recital Series," the "Carols by Candlelight Series," and to packed houses at the 2009 Kalamazoo "New Year's Fest." Kalamazoo Brass was also a guest artist on the American Guild of Organists "Organ Spectacular! World's Largest Organ Concert" (as heard on NPR's Pipe Dreams).

In 2009 Kalamazoo Brass helped pioneer the highly successful and innovative concert series, "Christmas in Kalamazoo: Ringers, Singers, and Joyous Noise Bringers," in collaboration with the Kalamazoo Ringers and the Kalamazoo Male Chorus.

Since their formation, Kalamazoo Brass has taken a particular interest in providing professional quality music for private events and ceremonies and in doing so, has become the leading brass quintet for weddings and ceremonies in Southwest Michigan.

As educators, the members of Kalamazoo Brass have a mission to inspire a passion for music in the next genereation.  All of its members are very active music instructors, teaching individual private lessons as well as leading master classes and workshops in area schools and universities.

In 2008 Kalamazoo Brass served as Quintet in Residence at Albion College presenting a master class, performing a recital on the "Albion College Guest Artist Concert Series," and soloing with the Albion College Honors Band and Albion College Symphonic Band on John Cheetham's Concertino for Brass Quintet and Concert Band. You will find that Kalamazoo Brass consistently excites audiences with its mastery of styles, delicate virtuosity, and entertaining presentations.
